Energy efficiency initiatives reviewed by Supreme Council

A special review into strategic programmes aimed at improving energy efficiency in Dubai has taken place.

The Supreme Council of Energy assessed a number of projects and initiatives, including a proposal to develop a power-rating system for existing buildings.

A study to improve the operational efficiency of cooling units was also reviewed, as was the results of a visit by the World Green Economy Organisation.

The meeting of the Council came in support of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims for three quarters of the emirate’s energy to come from clean sources.
